How Do I Get a Social Insurance Number?

In Canada, no one can work without having a Social Insurance Number. When you get a job, you will have to provide your Employer with your Social Insurance Number. If you do not have a Social Insurance Number you can visit any Service Canada Office in Saskatchewan.

There is no fee to apply for a Social Insurance Number. You will need to take your original Birth Certificate to any Service Canada Office. These offices have people there to help you go through the process of applying for a Social Insurance Number. If you are not sure if you already have a Social Insurance Number, the staff at the Service Canada Office can help you, but you will need to have your Birth Certificate with you.
