Job Seeker

Looking for a job?

This site has information to help you decide what you want to do for work and tools to help you get ready for a job.

What does “Job Seeker” mean? When you don’t have a job, your job is to look for a job… that is why we say “Job Seeker”.

Why would I want a job? People go to work to...

  • Earn money.
  • Learn new skills.
  • Explore Interests.
  • Meet new people.
  • Build confidence.
  • Contribute to the community.
  • Provide for your family.

When you work and earn your own money, you have more choices. You can choose what to buy, where to shop, and what you want to do in your time off work.

The 2008 UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities recognizes the right to an “opportunity to gain a living by work freely chosen or accepted in a labour market and work environment that is open, inclusive and accessible to people with disabilities.”  This is what Supported Employment is about!
